Abandoned Road

I took a walk

Down the abandoned road

Or so it seemed

For the appearance of dusk

Transformed it completely

I could see the ghosts

Of a past vigour

Their memoirs etched

In the heart of the land

And face of the sky

Once a sanctuary

Distorted into a nightmare

Just because I took a walk

Down the abandoned road
